The Radical Hale is a Hawaii nonprofit created to malama the individuals that are living without a house. (Independent local nonprofit 501(c)3)

Mission & Vision: To provide the best outreach care for individuals that are living without a house and gap individuals in the community. Outreach includes Emergency Meal and Hygiene Care, Medical Navigation, and Housing Navigation. Housing placement is our ultimate goal for all of our guests.

Our Story: The Founder and Operator, Kara England, has had a passion for helping individuals without a home for over 22 years. Due to the pandemic, her business closed, giving her the opportunity to foster her passion full-time. Her outreach started with simply caring for individuals on the streets by passing out food.
The growing number of homelessness was hard to ignore, giving her a chance to learn the effective processes on how to support these individuals. Kara and her team are working tirelessly to find ways to place our guests into permanent housing. Out of all the various groups on the streets, the elderly are the most vulnerable. To address this issue, our target group are now individuals 60 years and older battling homelessness in Oahu.

Walking the Walk
We offer four programs to build trust and maintain a
relationship with our guests.

1. Emergency Meal and Hygiene Program
In this program, we provide food, clothing, blankets/sleeping bags, towels, backpacks, shower kits, and first aid kits to all encounters.

2. Medical Navigation Program
In this program, we first apply for guests' EBT cards and MedQuest. We link guests to a PCP and any needed specialists. What makes this program unique is that we accompany and transport our guests to their first two doctor visits, which is necessary for a more successful outcome. Further, we set them up with a free phone through Tru-Connect.
3. Housing Navigation Program
In this program, we enroll, advocate, and provide continued housing support. We assist our guests with ID document services as well as searching for stainable income options.

4. Employment Program
This new program allows individuals to financially sustain themselves through local employment. Stay tuned for more updates.

Numbers are based on a social services team of 3 full-time un-paid
volunteers on the streets and 39 part-time volunteers.
